West Ham are reportedly considering making a move for Bristol City starlet Alex Scott, who is also wanted by Tottenham Hotspur.

Scott is widely considered one of the hottest talents in the Championship and was named the young player of the season for the 2022/23 campaign.

However, he may well be playing in the Premier League next season if rumours are to be believed.

The 19-year-old was a standout performer for Bristol City across 49 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring two goals and providing five assists along the way (Transfermarkt).

Speculation surrounding Alex Scott‘s future has been ongoing for a while now, with Spurs linked to the exciting midfielder in a GiveMeSport report from March 2023. Bristol City have already admitted they will struggle to keep hold of the player this summer (Daily Mail).

Just days ago, we covered a report from Football.London, in which it was claimed Tottenham wanted to be ‘kept apprised of the situation’ when it comes to Scott’s next move. According to that piece, Bristol City want £20 million to let their star player go.

West Ham have held talks with Scott’s representatives

However, the latest from the Evening Standard now suggests West Ham may look to challenge their London rivals for the youngster, and it could cost them as much as £25 million.

Apparently, the Hammers have already “held initial talks” with Scott’s representatives and are now in the process of “deciding whether to make a move” for the player.

The report adds that Bristol City are “hoping to command a £25 million fee” for their prized asset.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is likely Alex Scott would get more game time in a squad like West Ham, but I get the feeling Ange Postecoglou would be more willing to give young players a chance than we have seen from other Spurs managers in recent years.

I’d be very keen to see Scott come to Tottenham as he is clearly a very talented player.
