Report: Premier League rivals believe they can sign Spurs star at a ‘discount’

Football Insider have revealed that Manchester United are hopeful they can land Harry Kane for well below £100m this summer.

There has been plenty of speculation linking Kane with a move to Manchester United over the past few months but over recent days, reports have suggested that the Red Devils would not find it straightforward to sign the centre-forward.

Sky Sports revealed a couple of days ago that Daniel Levy has no intention of selling the England captain irrespective of whether he signs a new deal or not.

The report added that United did not want to get embroiled in a tug-of-war with the Spurs chairman that runs until the end of the window as Erik Ten Hag is keen on signing a number nine as early as possible.

The publication suggested that the onus would thus be on Kane himself to push for a move if he wants to join the Red Devils.

However, Football Insider have now suggested that not only are United hopeful of snapping up the Tottenham man but they believe they can do so at a discounted price.

Instead of paying Spurs’ valuation of £100m, it is alleged that Man Utd believe they can sign Kane for £85m plus add-ons, with the Ten Hag’s men said to be now laying the groundwork for such a deal.

Spurs Web Opinion

We know that Levy is certainly not going to make the deal easy for United, even if Kane does not sign a new deal.

The only exception would be if the new manager decides that he does not want to keep the player against his wishes and asks the club to cash in on him and reinvest the funds to rebuild the squad.
