Report: Premier League rivals not interested in swap deal involving Spurs man

Transfer experts have suggested that plenty of swap deals are likely to happen when the transfer window opens this summer as clubs across Europe are short of cash due to the coronavirus pandemic (Sky Sports).

One swap deal that has been mentioned involves Eric Dier and Declan Rice with 90 min reporting last month that Spurs are interested in the West Ham midfielder and are willing to include Dier in any deal.

However, there have been contradictory reports regarding Dier’s future, with Football Insider claiming that Spurs want to offer him a new contract.

Bleacher Report now reveals that, even if Spurs were interested in using Dier as a makeweight to sign Rice, West Ham are not keen on the Spurs star.

It is suggested, however, that the Hammers are willing to listen to offers for Rice and could cash in on the midfielder this summer.

It is said that, if Spurs want the 21-year-old, they would have to offer other players to West Ham or meet their valuation in cash.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Tottenham could well be eyeing Rice, I cannot see Jose Mourinho getting rid of Eric Dier. I believe the England international will be handed a new contract and that the Spurs boss will use him as a centre-half next season. I can potentially see him making the centre-back position his own too.
