Report: Premier League side could swoop for Spurs’ most-linked transfer target of last summer

Crystal Palace wide man Wilfried Zaha has been widely acknowledged as one of the most talented players in the Premier League for several seasons.

The 26-year-old is having his most prolific season in front of goal having netted 9 goals in all competitions so far this campaign.

The Ivorian, who has been linked with a move to Spurs recently stated his desire to experience Champions League football but his manager Roy Hodgson claimed that Zaha had been misquoted and that he is likely to remain with the Eagles next season (BBC).

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Palace are open to letting Zaha leave for a fee of around £80million and hope to replace him with Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.

Grealish was heavily linked with a move to Spurs last summer but a move never materialised after the Championship side were taken over by new investors and he has since signed a new contract (Sky Sports).

While Spurs fans certainly wouldn’t mind losing out on Grealish if they are to get Zaha, it appears extremely unlikely that Daniel Levy will pursue the deal if Palace aren’t willing to budge on their reported asking price.
