Report: Premier League star to push £35m move to Spurs through

Tottenham Hotspur are in desperate need of a new central midfielder after fans waved goodbye to favourite Mousa Dembele in January.

Spurs haven’t brought in a new signing for well over a year, with Lucas Moura being the last addition back in January 2018 from PSG.

However, Tottenham have brought through Harry Winks into the starting XI in the last couple of years, a man who looks as if he could occupy a spot for many seasons to come.

One player Spurs have been linked with is Barcelona’s Andre Gomes, who has spent this season on loan to Premier League side Everton.

TeamTalk have now reported that the Portuguese star is ready to force through a move to Spurs in the summer for around £35m, the same fee Barca paid for him back in 2016.

However, some fans may question whether the midfielder warrants this kind of money, or whether Spurs should instead spend it on a young English talent to fulfil their homegrown player quota.
