Report: Price tag mentioned for Spurs-linked Nicolo Zaniolo next summer

Corriere dello Sport have reported that Roma will hold a meeting with Nicolo Zaniolo’s representatives over the next few days to find a solution to his contract situation (07/12/22 via SportWitness).

The report claims that if an agreement cannot be reached, then Roma may offer a lower renewal in the summer, while also considering a potential offer that could come from England. It is said that an offer of €25m (£21.5m) at the end of the season could be enough to convince Zaniolo to move.

Tottenham are not mentioned in the report, but they are the English club that have been most heavily linked with Zaniolo over the past year or two.

Spurs reportedly made a move for the Italian last summer, and the only reason a transfer was not accepted was that Tottenham wanted a part-exchange deal and Roma wanted straight cash (Gianluca Di Marzio via Wettfreunde).

Spurs Web Opinion:

If a player is injury prone in Serie A then I really worry about spending money on them to come to the Premier League. It just doesn’t feel like a move that would work for anyone involved, apart from maybe Roma. I would much prefer Ruslan Malinovskyi.
