Report: Prolific striker linked with Spurs admits Premier League ambition

Napoli star Victor Osimhen, who has been mooted as a summer target for Tottenham, has admitted his desire to move to the Premier League in the future.

Osimhen has improved steadily since his move from Lille to Naples back in 2020 but the centre-forward has seemingly taken his game to a different level this season.

He has already found the net 21 times across all competitions for Napoli so far in 2022-23 and his goals have been one of the main reasons why Luciano Spallettis’s men are sitting 18 points clear at the top of the Serie A table.

Unsurprisingly, Osimhen’s form this season has reportedly caught the attention of several Premier League sides, with Football Insider reporting a couple of days that Antonio Conte’s men were one of the teams who are exploring a summer move for the striker.

The report added that Spurs are set to face competition for the Nigerian from the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

Osimhen has now handed a boost to interested Premier League clubs by opening up on his ambitions to play in England.

When asked if he wants to test himself in English football, the Napoli striker told Corriere della Sera: “I think it is an ambition of all players. And who knows, one day.

“Right now, I assure you, the thought does not even cross my mind. It would distract me from a beautiful season. Only Naples. Point.”

Osimhen is arguably the most sought-after centre-forward in world football at the moment after Harry Kane.

So, the only way it would make sense for Spurs to make a move for the Nigerian is if the England captain leaves the club at the end of the season.
