Report provides Adama Traore contract update after Spurs summer links

The Daily Mail have revealed that rumoured Tottenham target, Adama Traore is set to sign a new bumper contract with Wolves.

Tottenham were heavily linked with a move for Traore towards the end of the summer transfer window with the North London club reportedly having an offer turned down by Wolves for the winger just before the window slammed shut.

Sources even alleged at the time that the 25-year-old was keen on reuniting with Nuno Espirito Santo at Tottenham and even hired Jorge Mendes to help facilitate the transfer.

However, the move did not materialise and it has since been reported that the speedy winger is in talks with the Black Country club regarding a new contract.

The Mail have now revealed that Traore ‘is edging closer’ to putting pen to paper on a new contract at the Molineux Stadium.

It is asserted that the deal would be worth around £100,000-a-week, which would make the 25-year-old one of the highest earners at Wolves.

Spurs Web Opinion

I have a feeling that Traore will be added to the long list of players Spurs fans regret turning their noses up at after the likes of Jesse Lingard, Demarai Gray (and even Jack Grealish in 2018).

I personally believed that the 25-year-old would have been a useful addition to the squad. However, having said that, it is understandable why Spurs decided against pursuing the winger given Wolves’ reported £50m valuation.
