Report provides big Haaland update ahead of Spurs vs Man City in the FA Cup

The Times have revealed that Erling Haaland has now started training with his teammates but thankfully from a Tottenham perspective, it is revealed that the striker is not expected to feature in Friday’s FA Cup clash.

Spurs host City in what is undoubtedly the tie of the round, with Pep Guaridola’s men looking to overcome their shocking record at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since the venue’s opening in 2019.

The Premier League champions are currently in a warm-weather training camp in Dubai and The Times have revealed that Haaland was seen joining in training with his teammates on Monday.

The report states that the striker, who has been out with a foot injury for six weeks, completed the entire session without feeling any pain in his foot.

Erling Haaland is unlikely to play against Tottenham

However, the outlet adds that City are ‘taking it steady’ with Haaland and the centre-forward is thus unlikely to feature against the Lilywhites on Friday.

Instead, it is said that the 23-year-old is likely to come into Guardiola’s thinking for City’s Premier League clash against Burnley on January 31.

This update comes a little over 24 hours after Manchester Evening News reported that John Stones has recovered from his injury and might feature against Ange Postecoglou’s side.

I would not be surprised if Guardiola names Haaland on the bench as an emergency option to bring on in case his side are trailing towards the end of the game. With James Maddison also potentially back for Tottenham, Friday’s clash promises to be a cracker.
