Report provides clarity on Tottenham’s transfer link with Manchester United midfielder

Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard was linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window, only for a move to fail to materialise (Daily Star).

Lingard has rarely featured this season after struggling over the last year, and has only played three times in all competitions this season – twice in the Carabao Cup and once in the FA Cup (transfermarkt).

Football.London have claimed that despite the rumours of a potential move to North London, currently there is no interest from Tottenham in the England international while insisting that it was the same case in the summer.

The Manchester Evening News revealed that the 28-year-old has been axed from Manchester United’s core 22-man squad.

With Spurs not in the picture, Premier League strugglers Sheffield United are said to have discussed the possibility of taking him on loan with Chris Wilder holding a discussion with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer over a glass of wine following the recent match between the two sides.
