Report provides exciting new James Maddison update for Tottenham fans

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur will not wait until they get approval from their new manager to make a move for Leicester City midfielder James Maddison.

The Telegraph reported last week that Tottenham are now leading the race for Maddison’s signature in the summer.

The report added that Leicester City expect the 26-year-old to leave the King Power Stadium at the end of the season and would be ready to accept an offer of £50m for the player.

The same information has now been backed up by Football Insider, who state that Spurs are currently the frontrunners ahead of both Liverpool and Newcastle United for Maddison’s signature.

However, the publication states that the North London club do not want to wait until they appoint a new manager to make move for the England international and risk losing their lead.

The Lilywhites are thus allegedly ready to push ahead with an offer for the Leicester star even before they make a final decision on who replaces Antonio Conte at the helm.

The obvious question to ask about this is whether Maddison would want to risk coming to Spurs without knowing which manager he would be playing for next season.

If Klopp or Howe speak to the 26-year-old and convince him that he could be an important player for them, the midfielder would be tempted to join Liverpool or Newcastle instead of Tottenham.
