Report provides injury update on Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Antonio Conte could be handed an injury boost ahead of the match against Leicester, with Sergio Reguilon potentially available to return.

Tottenham were without several of their key first-team players for the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea on Wednesday, with Reguilon joined by Eric Dier, Son Heung-min, Cristian Romero and Steven Bergwijn on the sidelines.

Conte admitted in his pre-match press conference before the Arsenal match that although Bergwijn was not 100 per cent fit, he asked the winger to be on the bench due to the lack of options he has upfront.

Gold also revealed that the Italian may have had Reguilon available for selection for Sunday’s clash before it was postponed.

The Spaniard last featured for Spurs in their New Year’s Day win away at Watford and he was named on the bench for the first leg of Tottenham’s Carabao Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

According to Gold, the left-back took part in full training with the first-team squad ahead of the clash against Arsenal. Although the game was called off, Spurs are in action again in mid-week against Leicester so Reguilon could be available for a return.

It will be a big boost for Spurs if Reguilon is passed fully fit as watching Matt Doherty at left wing-back against Chelsea made for pretty grim viewing.
