Report provides Juan Foyth update and whether Villarreal will pay the £13m

On loan at Spanish club, Villarreal, Juan Foyth finished the 2020/21 season with more trophies than his parent side, Tottenham Hotspur.

While the Lilywhites were knocked out of the Europa League in embarrassing fashion against Dynamo Zagreb, Villarreal went all the way.

The Yellow Submarine even beat two big-name Premier League sides on the way to their victory, seeing off Arsenal in the semi-final and Man United in the final.

AS have now reported that Villarreal manager, Unai Emery, wants to keep Foyth at the club ‘at all costs’ this summer after his successful loan spell (via Sport Witness).

It is said that the two clubs originally agreed an option-to-buy clause in the loan deal for €15m or around £13m.

This clause is said to give Villarreal some ‘peace of mind’ in the situation, as they know they are guaranteed the chance to retain Foyth’s services.

However, although keeping Foyth is seen as a priority, the report also adds that Villarreal will attempt to negotiate a lower price with the North London club.
