Report provides negative update in Tottenham’s Ruslan Malinovskyi pursuit

Italian publication Il Giorno have reported that Tottenham’s pursuit of Atalanta attacker Ruslan Malinovskyi has now ‘vanished’ due to issues with Fabio Paratici.

This comes after reports claimed that 16 arrest warrants had been prepared for figures surrounding Juventus transfer dealings, including former managing director Paratici (Gazzetta dello Sport).

Il Giorno claim that the media storm created by these reports now makes a move from Italy to Tottenham complicated and ‘inappropriate’.

The report confirms that Spurs have been chasing Malinovskyi since the summer and there was even a deal in place in the final hours of the window before it fell through, although now Spurs may have ‘faded away’ completely.

It was reported in recent weeks that Tottenham were in ‘pole position’ to snap up Malinovskyi when the transfer window opens again in January (Sport Mediaset), although Atalanta allegedly warned Spurs he would cost at least £15.4m (CalcioMercato).

Spurs Web Opinion:

I don’t expect the Paratici reports to influence any Tottenham dealings this summer as it all predates his work in North London. It seems that Malinovskyi and Weston McKennie may be the top targets for midfield reinforcements, although I only expect one to be signed.
