Report provides positive update on Cristian Romero’s injury

Contrary to what was initially reported on Wednesday, Argentine publication TyC Sports have claimed that Cristian Romero is only expected to be out of action for ten days.

Romero played every minute of Tottenham’s first two Premier League clashes against Southampton and Chelsea.

However, Football.London revealed Wednesday that the centre-back had picked up a muscular injury during the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.

The report asserted that the 24-year-old is expected to be out of action for three or four weeks, and could miss Tottenham’s trip to Manchester City on September 10.

However, Tyc Sport have now claimed that the injury is not as serious as first reported and Romero is expected to recover in the next ten days.

It is explained that the defender sustained the injury as a result of Marc Cucurella’s challenge in the first half of Sunday’s London derby.

Tyc Sports add that Romero will be available in time for the international break scheduled between September 20 and 26.

Spurs Web Opinion

This is good news as it means that Romero might only miss two or three Premier League games. One would expect us to be able to beat Wolves and Nottingham Forest without the Argentine but we need him back for our trip to London Stadium at the end of this month.
