Report provides transfer update on Spurs-linked right-back Max Aarons

The Telegraph have claimed that rumoured Tottenham target Max Aarons is expected to leave Norwich City this summer.

Spurs are expected to be in the market for a right wing-back this summer, with the likes of Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence (Sun) and Tornio’s Wilfried Singo (Tuttosport) being mooted as targets for the North London club over recent weeks.

Aarons is another name that was previously thought to be on Tottenham’s wishlist, with multiple publications (The Times and Sky Sports) linking the 22-year-old with a move to the Lilywhites last summer.

Reports once again emerged before the January transfer window suggesting that Spurs were battling AS Roma for the Canaries star’s services (Calciomercato.it) but the player once again ended up staying put at Carrow Road.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs reignite their interest in Aarons this summer but if The Telegraph are to be believed, the right-back will be on the market.

It is explained that Dean Smith will look to reshape Norwich’s squad following their relegation and that the England Under-21 international is one of several players who will be sold by the club ahead of their return to the Championship.

Spurs Web Opinion

Aarons will be on Spurs’ radar, given that the club are likely to be exploring homegrown players this summer. However, the Norwich man’s development has plateaued a bit over the last year and a half.

Djed Spence would be less expensive than Aarons due to his contract situation and it can be argued that the Boro star has a higher ceiling.
