Report provides update on Adama Traore – Spurs and two PL clubs still interested

90 min have claimed that Newcastle United have entered the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur target Adama Traore.

Traore was reportedly Antonio Conte’s first-choice option for the right wing-back role in January but the pacy wide-man turned down the North Londoners’ approach in favour of a loan move to Barcelona (The Athletic).

Previous reports indicated that the Catalan club have no intention of exercising their option to buy the winger permanently (Sport).

Spurs have been backed to reignite their interest in the Wolves star this summer, with the player thought to be open to the idea of moving to the North London club (CalcioMercato).

90 min have now claimed that Barcelona have confirmed they will not be buying Traore, but the 26-year-old will leave the Molineux Stadium since he has just six months left on his contract at Wolves.

The report suggests that Spurs continue to have their eye on the Spain international but Antonio Conte’s men could face competition for the player’s signature.

Both Newcastle and Leeds United are said to have expressed an interest in snapping up Traore this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

It appears like Spurs only went for Traore in January as their primary targets for the right wing-back role were unavailable.

It very much seems like Djed Spence is the one that the North Londoners want this summer, and they will only explore a move for other alternatives if a deal for the Middlesbrough starlet falls through.
