Report provides update on Barcelona and Tottenham-linked Dembele

Barcelona have reportedly told alleged Tottenham target Ousmane Dembele to make his intentions over his future clear, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Spanish publication claim the LaLiga giants are becoming frustrated with the French winger’s contract situation, and could move for Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling as his replacement if he does not make a decision soon.

Dembele, 24, sees his contract at the Camp Nou expire at the end of the season, meaning Barcelona are at risk of losing him for free after paying over £135 million for him in 2017.

Reports emerged that Tottenham hold an interest in Dembele and are keeping tabs on his situation in Spain.

A move could even have a domino effect and scupper Arsenal’s hopes of bringing Sterling to the red half of North London in the process.

The Gunners allegedly made a bid to City for the England international, but that could come under threat if Barcelona enter negotiations with a bid of their own.

This all seems a bit complex and a mess in all honesty, and it doesn’t seem likely that anything will materialise given how many variables are involved.

Dembele would be a super signing for any club providing he leaves on a free. Barcelona really do have a headache to contend with regarding his contract situation.
