Report provides update on Bryan Gil transfer situation – Valencia still keen

According to the print edition of AS (30/05/22 – as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham Hotspur wish to sell Bryan Gil permanently this summer rather than loaning him out.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold claimed earlier this week that Spurs face a dilemma in deciding whether or not to loan Gil out or cash in on him.

The journalist explained that although the 21-year-old is not in Antonio Conte’s plans, the North London club hierarchy would also have to consider the prospect that Conte might not be their head coach in the future.

AS have now reported that despite Gil becoming less influential at Valencia towards the end of the season, the winger has impressed those at the La Liga club.

Los Che chief Anil Murthy is said to have travelled to London this week to discuss an extension to the Spain international’s loan spell at the club.

However, the report claims that Tottenham would prefer to sell the former Sevilla man permanently and would only be willing to send the player on loan to Valencia if they do not receive a suitable offer for him this summer.

It is alleged that Gil would prefer to return to the Mestalla next season.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would be surprised if Tottenham cash in on Gil this summer. Even if the 21-year-old does not manage to adapt to the Premier League, his ceiling is evidently high. His market value is only likely to increase if he spends next season on loan at a La Liga club.
