Report provides update on future of Tottenham’s Oliver Skipp

Football London have reported that Oliver Skipp’s immediate future is still up in the air this summer as Spurs have yet to appoint a new manager.

Skipp impressed during his loan spell with Norwich City last season, playing all but one of their Championship games as they lifted the title and won Premier League promotion.

However, the Canaries are reportedly closing in on the loan signing of Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour, who plays a similar role to Skipp.

Football London claim that Fabio Paratici and the new Tottenham manager, if they are ever appointed, will have a sit-down and make decisions about the returning loan players ahead of the new season.

The report added that Mourinho was a big fan of Skipp and he would have likely been given first-team chances under the Portuguese coach, however, Paratici and the new manager may well prefer another loan move.

Norwich City would reportedly be at the front of the queue for Skipp still, with the Eastern Daily Press claiming that signing Gilmour would not impact the club’s plans for Skipp.

Spurs Web Opinion:

In my opinion, Skipp is ready to be a first-team fixture, perhaps as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s back-up to start with. However, if the new manager is not a fan then it would be much more productive to loan him out to a Premier League side.
