Report provides update on Giovani Lo Celso exit – Multiple clubs interested

According to the print edition of Marca (01/06/22 – as relayed by Sport Witness), Tottenham Hotspur have set Giovani Lo Celso’s asking price at €20m (£17m) amidst Villarreal’s interest.

Villarreal are thought to be keen on snapping up Lo Celso on a permanent deal on the back of his impressive loan spell at the club in the second half of the season (El Periodico Mediterraneo).

Radio Castellon journalist Xavi Jorquera Marquez claimed on Monday that the La Liga club had reached an agreement with Spurs on a fee of €2m (£15.3m) plus €6m (£5.1m) in bonuses for the former Real Betis man but this was denied by Dan Kilpatrick, who stated that no such deal had been finalised.

Football Insider claimed on Wednesday that the Yellow Submarine were in advanced talks with Spurs regarding a deal for Lo Celso. It was explained that Tottenham initially wanted £30m for the midfielder but have now lowered their demands to around £20m.

If Marca’s latest reports are to be believed, the North London club are prepared to accept a fee of just €20m (£17m) to part ways with the 26-year-old.

The report asserts that Unai Emery is extremely keen to bring the Tottenham man board, but the Yellow Submarine are not the only club to be interested in Lo Celso.

Spurs Web Opinion

Spurs do need to get some foreign players off their books in order to free up some space for new signings. Lo Celso will likely be much easier to shift than many others in the squad and one would expect this deal to progress quickly over the coming days and weeks.
