Report provides update on Ivan Perisic situation with Spurs ‘pressing’ to sign him

Tottenham are reportedly pushing to sign Ivan Perisic this summer with Inter Milan waiting for an answer on his future after offering him a new contract, according to Tuttosport (print edition — 26/05/22 via Sport Witness).

Perisic’s future at the San Siro is uncertain given his current deal is set to expire at the end of next month (Transfermarkt).

ESPN recently named Spurs as suitors alongside Juventus for the Croatia international, who is thought to be open to securing a reunion with Antonio Conte in North London.

Spurs are planning to jump to the front of the queue for Perisic with Tuttosport reporting the Premier League side are ‘pressing’ to land the 33-year-old this summer.

The report notes Tottenham remain alongside both Juventus and now Chelsea in the hunt for the wing-back, who tallied 19 goal contributions last term (Transfermarkt).

However, it adds that Inter, who met with Perisic’s representatives on Monday, offered him a two-year contract extension and have given the wide man until Friday to make his final decision.

Spurs Web Opinion

Perisic has been a solid option at wing-back for quite a while now and he may be someone Spurs will bring in to shore up their depth.

It isn’t the sort of move they would usually look to do as he is heading towards the end of his career, but Conte has worked with him before and that could be what they use to judge this move.
