Report provides update on Man United’s Mauricio Pochettino pursuit

Manchester Evening News have claimed that former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is ready to quit Paris Saint-Germain for Manchester United ‘right now’.

Despite it being two years since Pochettino left Spurs, some Tottenham fans continue to hold the Argentine in high regard.

The 49-year-old admitted last week that he still loves the North London club and supports them when they are playing.

Pochettino was linked with a return to N17 in the summer before the club hired Nuno Espirito Santo but he stayed put in Paris.

The former Tottenham manager is now thought to be United’s number one target to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

MEN have now claimed that Pochettino is open to taking up the United job right now rather than wait until the summer.

It is alleged that the former Southampton and Espanyol boss is partly unsettled at PSG as it was not the job he envisaged accepting when he left Tottenham two years ago.

This information is also backed up by The Daily Mail, who claim that the Argentine is ‘unhappy’ in the French capital.

The report explains that Pochettino is living in a hotel while his family remain in London and he is frustrated at managing a dressing-room with big egos like Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Spurs Web Opinion

I have no doubt that Pochettino will succeed at United if he takes the job which is why I am desperately hoping he stays at PSG.

However, I cannot help but think he will be making a mistake by quitting PSG without securing the Ligue 1 title and having another shot at the Champions League.

Otherwise, the ‘what has he won?’ talking point will always be thrown at the 49-year-old the second he has a few setbacks at United.
