Report provides update on new Kane contract after Bayern make contact

Bayern Munich have sounded out the availability of Tottenham striker Harry Kane after making contact with his representatives, according to Bild.

The report claims Bayern have held talks regarding Kane’s status but are unable to open any formal negotiations as the player is contracted by Spurs until 2024.

It adds Spurs are trying everything to get Kane to sign a fresh contract extension, however, Die Roten have still managed to receive information on whether a move to Germany would be a possibility next summer. So far, they have received a ‘no’ from Tottenham.

This comes as Bayern are on the lookout for a replacement for Poland striker Robert Lewandowski (Kicker), who recently left the Allianz Arena to join Barcelona.

Kane produced a strong end to last season to help Spurs qualify for the Champions League after a slow start to the campaign on the back of a turbulent summer.

Alongside falling in the Euro 2020 final to Italy, the 28-year-old pushed for a move to Manchester City which failed to come together, forcing him to concede and remain in north London (The Telegraph).

Spurs Web Opinion

Bayern need a replacement for Lewandowski so obviously they would look in the direction of Kane given he is right up there with the Pole in terms of ability.

Spurs will be comfortable for the moment knowing he has another two years left on his contract but it could serve as a warning that they may need to start thinking about tying him down to another deal.
