Report provides update on situation of Spurs-linked Dusan Vlahovic at Fiorentina

An Italian outlet, La Nazione, report that Fiorentina have identified replacements for rumoured Tottenham target, Dusan Vlahovic ahead of the January transfer window.

Tottenham failed to get a deal for Vlahovic over the line during the summer despite being linked heavily with the centre-forward.

However, the speculation linking the striker with a move to North London has not slowed down over recent weeks.

The 21-year-old’s current contract runs out in the summer of 2023 and Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso has admitted he is unsure as to whether the striker will put pen to paper on a new contract with the club.

Reports from Italy have claimed that Spurs are ‘crazy’ about the Serbian international and are leading the race for his signature despite the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan and AC Milan also showing interest in the player.

Fabrizio Romano also reported that talks between Vlahovic and Fiorentina had broken down this week.

It has even been alleged that Tottenham are in talks with the striker’s entourage and that Fabio Paratici is keen to bring the 21-year-old to North London after having previously tried to sign him for Juventus.

La Nazione have now revealed that Viola have identified Torino’s Andrea Belotti and Pisa’s Lorenzo Lucca as replacements should Vlahovic leave in January.

The report also asserts that Fiorentina are hoping to get €75m (£63.7m) for the striker but their asking price is described as ‘negotiable’.

Spurs Web Opinion

I cannot see Fiorentina getting £60m for Vlahovic under the current economic climate, given that his contract runs out in 2023. Even if they were to get a bidding war going, one would not expect the fee to be more than £50m.
