Report provides update on Spurs targets Danny Ings and Dusan Vlahovic

The Telegraph have claimed that Danny Ings’ salary demands might prove to be an issue for Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Ings is now into the final 12 months of his contract at St Mary’s and reports have indicated that he has declined a new deal offered by Southampton.

It was reported last month that Spurs had made the 28-year-old their number one transfer target at the insistence of Nuno Espirito Santo, who wants to employ a formation with two strikers in the upcoming season.

Kane’s future has been thrown into serious doubt since then after the striker failed to report for training in an attempt to force through a move to Manchester City.

If the England captain does leave Spurs, it remains to be seen whether the North London club will look to replace him with the Saints star.

The Telegraph have now revealed that Ings is indeed on Tottenham’s radar but the Lilywhites might not be willing to hand the striker the sort of wages he is after.

The report also adds that Dusan Vlahovic is another option on Spurs’ radar but the club view the Fiorentina front man as someone who could partner and compete with Kane, rather than act as the 28-year-old’s replacement.

Whatever Tottenham’s plans were regarding adding to their forward line this summer, it would likely change considerably if Kane were to leave.

One would imagine that the club will have to go after players of a higher calibre than either Ings or Vlahovic if the England captain does depart.
