Report provides update on Tanguy Ndombele return to Lyon – Medical today

Lyon have reached an agreement with Tottenham to sign Tanguy Ndombele on loan who is expected to complete a medical today, according to RMC Sport (10:52 am).

Ndombele has been listed as potential outgoing ahead of the transfer deadline having fallen out of favour in North London (Evening Standard).

The 25-year-old emerged as an option for Paris Saint-Germain in a move that would have seen him reunited with Mauricio Pochettino, but a deal failed to materialise after the French giants struggled to make space in their squad (Julien Maynard of Telefoot).

Ndombele has since attracted interest from Lyon, who he originally left to join Spurs in 2019, with talks over a loan deal with an option to buy having taken place over the weekend (Sky Sports).

RMC Sport now claims an agreement has been reached for Ndombele to make a return to the club until the end of the season, and he is set to undertake a medical ahead of the transfer deadline.

He will replace Brazilian midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, who recently completed a move to Newcastle.

The club has been intent on offloading Ndombele before the deadline and that appears to be getting closer. The move will likely free up space for Rodrigo Bentancur to come into the club, while it will also save the club a decent amount of money on wages too.
