Report provides update on the situation of Tottenham-linked Filip Kostic

According to Bild, rumoured Tottenham target Filip Kostic has been offered a new contract by Eintracht Frankfurt.

Tottenham have already strengthened at left wing-back this summer, with the capture of Ivan Perisic on a free transfer.

Some sources had previously indicated that Kostic was another name on Antonio Conte’s wishlist for the same role (Fichajes.net and Football.London).

In fact, The Evening Standard suggested a couple of weeks ago that Tottenham’s capture of Perisic may not end the club’s pursuit of Kostic, with the Croat also being able to operate further forward or at right wing-back.

If Bild’s latest update is to be believed, Frankfurt have now offered the Serbian a new four-year contract that would see him earn €4m (£3.4m) per year in order to ward off interest from Juventus.

The report explains that Juve have not made a concrete offer for the 29-year-old, with the Bundesliga club demanding €20m (£17m) for the experienced wide man.

Bild claims that Frankfurt expects a final decision from Kostic over the next few days.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think Spurs are likely to be in for Kostic this summer despite reports suggesting the contrary. Perisic will be our starting left wing-back next season while Sessegnon demonstrated in the final few months of the 2021/22 campaign that he can be more than a useful understudy to the Croat.
