Report provides update on Tottenham interest in Liverpool starlet this summer

If recent reports are to be believed, Tottenham Hotspur have turned their attentions abroad in the search of a suitable back up to Harry Kane, with the likes of Habib Diallo, Arkadiusz Milik, and Pakston Daka among the names on the club’s radar (Football.London).

However, it now looks as though another ‘homegrown’ striker who was on Tottenham’s wishlist could be on the move as reports indicate that Rhian Brewster is set to leave Liverpool this transfer window.

According to The Beautiful Game Podcast (as relayed by Wales Online), sources close to the striker have said that he is looking to leave Anfield this summer.

Spurs were looking to snap up the 20-year-old on loan according to previous reports (Football Insider) but it was said that the Reds prefered to loan him out to Sheffield United instead (Sheffield Star).

The Beautiful Game Podcast now claim that, apart from Spurs and the Blades, Newcastle United are also interested in snapping up Brewster this summer while Swansea are still hopeful that they can re-sign him on loan.

The report reveals that the striker will leave the Premier League champions either on loan or a permanent transfer this summer, with Jurgen Klopp side likely to insist on a buy-back clause if he is sold.

Spurs Web Opinion

I see no reason why Liverpool will want to loan Brewster out to us when sides like Sheffield United and Newcastle want him as he is likely to get more game time at those clubs. I certainly cannot see Daniel Levy agreeing on any permanent deal that involved a buy-back clause either. So any chance we had of snapping up the Reds youngster appears to be over.
