Football Insider have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are set to pull out of the race to sign Southampton’s Danny Ings ahead of the summer transfer window.
Ings will be heading into his final year with the Saints this summer unless he signs a new contract and Football Insider claimed that Spurs topped the list of suitors just a few months ago.
The report goes on to claim that Jose Mourinho has already made contact with the striker over a possible move to North London after new contract talks stalled with Southampton.
Unfortunately, it is said that the Lilywhites have not been given much encouragement that Ings wants to sign for them and will thus pull out of the race for his signature.
Jose Mourinho was asked about the Ings rumours in a press conference earlier in the season but he refused to comment on the Southampton strikers, while also claiming that Spurs only needed two senior strikers at the club.
