In what comes as a blow to Tottenham’s hopes of offloading Tanguy Ndombele, RMC Sport have revealed that negotiations between the North London club and Paris Saint-Germain for the Frenchman are ‘no longer advancing’.
Until Thursday, it seemed as though Ndombele’s was edging close to a return to Ligue 1, with both Julien Laurens and Fabrizio Romano revealing that all parties were confident the 25-year-old’s loan move to Paris would go through.
However, Friday’s print edition of L’Equipe (via Sport Witness) suggested that Ndombele’s proposed move to PSG could fall through due to the inability of Mauricio Pochettino’s side to get players out of the door.
This has now been backed up by RMC Sport, who suggest that while negotiations between Spurs and PSG were advancing until a couple of days ago, the Ligue 1 giants are now ‘procrastinating’.
It is explained that this is because PSG are facing difficulties in moving on Dina Ebimbe and Layvin Kurzawa.
The report claims the French club have ‘never hidden’ that it would be difficult for them to sign the Spurs man without selling players first.
However, it is asserted that things could change before the transfer window slams shut on Monday.
Spurs Web Opinion
Not for the first time in recent years, our inability to sell some of our deadwood has seemingly crippled our ability to make new signings.
One would think that Spurs would cede to PSG’s demands and potentially offer to cover a portion of the Ndombele’s wages to get him out of the door, considering that time is now of the essence.
