Sport 1 have revealed that Tottenham are still quite a distance away from striking a deal with Julian Nagelsann as the German has no plan on signing for the North London club until they have their hierarchy sorted out.
We covered a report from Sky Germany last week which claimed that Nagelsmann had only had preliminary talks with Spurs and that he had informed the Premier League club that he wanted clarity on which director of football he would be working under.
The same information has now been reported by Sport 1, who state that the recently departed Bayern Munich boss will not hold concrete talks until Tottenham have a new director in place.
It is alleged that Nagelsmann does not want to leave anything to chance and wants complete clarity on ‘what his next employer is planning’.
Sport 1 add that the 35-year-old has ‘no interest in a project that is on shaky ground’ which is why he turned down an approach from Chelsea.
Spurs Web Opinion
One can certainly understand why Nagelsmann (or any top coach for that matter) would be hesitant to commit without knowing which direction they would be working under.
That could perhaps be why Spurs have paused their managerial search and shifted their attention to finalising Paratici’s replacement.
