Report provides update on whether Bryan Gil could stay at Valencia on loan

The Daily Star have claimed that Bryan Gil could be offered the chance to extend his loan spell at Valencia, which is set to run out at the end of the season.

Gil has carried on from where he left off at Eibar last season after completing a return to La Liga on loan in January.

The winger’s impressive displays have earned him rave reviews, with the Valencia faithful already calling for him to stay at the club beyond the summer (The Spanish football podcast).

The Evening Standard claimed last month that Spurs are hopeful Gil has a future in North London and expect him to return to the club in the summer.

However, if The Daily Star’s latest update is to be believed, Valencia have already enquired about the option of adding another year to the 21-year-old’s loan spell at the Mestalla.

The report states that Los Che believe the former Sevilla man could be tempted to stay with the club for one more season, particularly if he gets back into the Spain squad on the back of his impressive displays at Valencia.

Given that the Qatar World Cup is scheduled to start in November, Gil might wish to extend his loan spell at Valencia by at least six months, in order to seal his place in the Spain squad.

I would like to see Spurs loan the 21-year-old out to a Premier League club in the second half of next season so that he can get used to the demands of English football.
