Report: PSG asked for comment on Pochettino to Spurs rumours

According to The Independent, Paris Saint-Germain have refused to comment on the rumours linking Mauricio Pochettio with a sensational return to Tottenham.

Rumours first emerged on Tuesday that some figures at Tottenham were keen for the club to bring Pochettino back.

Some sources then indicated that the Argentine would be open to a return to his former club, having not found the nature of the PSG job to be enjoyable.

While most Spurs fans would have initially taken the speculation with a pinch of salt, a potential return for Pochettino now looks to be a real possibility after the developments over the last 24 hours.

Reliable sources like The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke and Football.London’s Alasdair Gold have now confirmed that Tottenham have held talks with the Argentine, who is keen on returning to his former club.

Sky Sports have even claimed that a source has told them that Pochettino’s return to Spurs is essentially a done deal at this point.

However, The Independent now claim that PSG remain determined to hold on to the 48-year-old, who has 12 months left on his contract.

It is explained that the Ligue 1 giants have refused to comment on the rumours and are likely to knock back any approach from Spurs.

If it is true that Pochettino is in favour of a return to Spurs, then we should be able to get him by paying off the year left on his PSG contract. So the French club’s reluctance to let him go might not matter if Poch has his heart set on leaving.
