Report: PSG enter the race for Inter Milan man wanted by Spurs’ Conte

According to Le10Sport, Paris Saint-Germain now have their eyes on rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target Marcelo Brozovic.

Brozovic has been a key player for Inter Milan over the years but the midfielder’s future seems up in the air at the moment as his current contract runs out at the end of the season.

According to previous reports, Antonio Conte allegedly wants to reunite with the Croatian international at Tottenham.

TuttoMercatoWeb revealed last week that Inter have not been able to meet Brozovic’s wage demands and that negotiations between the parties had stalled.

However, Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta declared this week that he is confident the 29-year-old will extend his stay at the San Siro.

Le10Sport have now claimed that Spurs also have competition from PSG, who are closely following Brozovic’s situation.

The Ligue 1 giants are said to be keen on strengthening their midfield ranks and sporting director Leanardo is said to have identified the Croat as an option.

However, the report makes it clear that Inter will not let Brozovic leave without a fight. It is asserted that the Nerrazuri are prepared to offer the midfielder a contract worth around €6m (£5m) a year plus bonuses to convince him to commit his future to the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect the rumours linking Spurs with Brozovic have only come about because of Conte’s arrival at North London. The midfielder’s entourage might also be feeding reports to the press to put pressure on Inter.

I am not sure if we really need a player of the 29-year-old’s profile. In Skipp and Hojbjerg, we have two players who are more than capable of playing a similar role.

We should be going after a more dynamic midfielder like Franck Kessie but even that could depend on Conte’s assessment of the likes of Ndombele, Dele and Lo Celso in the coming weeks.
