Report: PSG face roadblock in their attempt to sign Ndombele from Spurs

According to Le Parisien, Paris Sant-Germain need to sell one of their midfielders before they could sign Tanguy Ndombele from Tottenham Hotspur.

PSG have been in negotiations with Tottenham since last week to sign Ndombele on loan until the end of the season (Guardian).

GFFN reported this week that the Parisians are willing to cover the entirety of the midfielder’s £200,000-a-week salary during his loan spell at Parc des Princes.

However, Le Parisien have now revealed that the Ligue 1 giants would have to trim their wage bill in order to accommodate Ndombele’s salary.

It is explained that to afford Tottenham’s star’s sizeable salary, Mauricio Pochettino’s men are looking to move one of their midfield players on.

However, they are said to be facing difficulties in doing so since none of Leandro Paredes, Ander Herrera, Idrissa Gueye, Danilo Pereira, or Georginio Wijnaldum wish to leave the French capital this month.

The reason that Ndombele was always going to prove difficult to shift was his £200,000 per week salary (Sportac).

PSG were the only club outside the Premier League that could potentially afford that but it seems like even they might have FFP constraints to consider.

This certainly serves as a lesson to the Spurs hierarchy regarding handing huge contracts to players who are unproven in the Premier League.
