Report: PSG scouting Spurs star ahead of potential summer move

Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly watch Danny Rose closely during his loan spell at Newcastle United as part of a potential approach for the defender in the summer.

Rose left Spurs to join Newcastle on loan for the rest of the season and has admitted that he agreed to the move as he didn’t feel he could get opportunities under Jose Mourinho in North London (BBC Radio 5 Live).

The Sun reports that PSG were one of the clubs interested in landing Rose in January as they feared Layvin Kurzawa would leave the club.

Although Kurzawa ended up staying, it is suggested that the left back is likely to leave at the end of the season with Arsenal and Juventus both said to be keen on him.

Rose is one of the players on PSG’s radar as a potential replacement for the Frenchman and could return for the England international in the summer if they are sufficiently impressed with his performances for the Magpies.

Spurs Web Opinion

If it is true that PSG are interested in Rose, then they probably want him as a back up rather than as first choice as Thomas Tuchel seems to be a fan of Juan Bernat. With Rose’s contract running down in eighteen months, I would expect the club to do all they can to sell him in the summer rather than allowing him to enter the final year of his deal.
