Report: PSG willing to sell alleged Tottenham target for £25m in January

According to Jeunes Footeux, Paris Saint-Germain are willing to sell alleged Tottenham target Mauro Icardi in January.

The Argentine striker has endured a difficult spell in the French capital this term, having fallen down the pecking order at the Parc des Princes.

With the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe all preferred by Mauricio Pochettino, Icardi has often found himself among the substitutes when the trio are fit and available.

As such, Jeunes Footeux claim PSG could look to offload the striker for as much as €30 million (£25.2m) this month, having paid £45 million to Inter Milan for his services in the summer of 2020.

Tottenham have been said to be a potential destination for the 28-year-old, who has amassed 124 goals in 219 appearances for Les Parisiens.

Interest in Icardi has also sprung up across the Premier League at Newcastle, with the Magpies keen to boost their hopes of survival by acquiring the striker.

Spurs Web Opinion

Icardi is in the prime of his career and has been one of the world’s best strikers in recent seasons. However, it is tough to break into a team with Messi, Neymar and Mbappe, so it isn’t surprising to see his minutes limited. He could be an option to bring in alongside Harry Kane, but ultimately it is whether Antonio Conte sees him as a good fit for his team.
