Report: PSG would not stand in way of Poch exit; already working on offer for target

Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a new head coach is now into day 51 after Daniel Levy took the decision to part company with Jose Mourinho just days before the Carabao Cup final.

Spurs fans have certainly been put through a rollercoaster of emotion after it appeared that Antonio Conte would be named as Mourinho’s successor, only for the club to cancel their plans to appoint the Italian having experienced concerns during meetings (Sky Sports).

Mauricio Pochettino was also linked with a spectacular return to North London, with the 49-year-old said to be unhappy in Paris and told the Ligue 1 giants that he wanted to quit (Liberation).

Sky Sports also confirmed that talks between Daniel Levy and Pochettino had taken place, but the Argentine still remains in the French capital with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi insisting that he has been hurt by talk of his exit (L’Equipe).

French news outlet Le10 Sport have today claimed that PSG have made Zinedine Zidane their main target should Pochettino leave.

PSG officials are said to have already started work on a potential Zidane appointment by beginning to review an offer for the former Real Madrid boss.

It is said that PSG are open to the prospect of Pochettino departing and would not stand in his way, despite their priority to be to continue with him at the helm.
