Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a new head coach is now into day 51 after Daniel Levy took the decision to part company with Jose Mourinho just days before the Carabao Cup final.

Spurs fans have certainly been put through a rollercoaster of emotion after it appeared that Antonio Conte would be named as Mourinho’s successor, only for the club to cancel their plans to appoint the Italian having experienced concerns during meetings (Sky Sports).

Mauricio Pochettino was also linked with a spectacular return to North London, with the 49-year-old said to be unhappy in Paris and told the Ligue 1 giants that he wanted to quit (Liberation).

Sky Sports also confirmed that talks between Daniel Levy and Pochettino had taken place, but the Argentine still remains in the French capital with PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi insisting that he has been hurt by talk of his exit (L’Equipe).

French news outlet Le10 Sport have today claimed that PSG have made Zinedine Zidane their main target should Pochettino leave.

PSG officials are said to have already started work on a potential Zidane appointment by beginning to review an offer for the former Real Madrid boss.

It is said that PSG are open to the prospect of Pochettino departing and would not stand in his way, despite their priority to be to continue with him at the helm.

  1. So 5 more years of levy promises but nothing at the end. In his 5 + years poch won nothing but for the owners achieved everything they wanted. As long as fans are happy with winning nothing then don’t complain. For me this says everything about enic, levy and the board. Profits come first and fans are fools who are easily coned. I’ve had enough if poch comes back he gave up the last time around and left us in 14th. You should never go back.

  2. For five and a half years, what did Pochettino win? Two finals scoffed?

Let’s stop all this sentimental bullshit…….Pochettino is not a natural winner. He is under pressure now at PSG because he’s expected to win everything there. That’s why he is inching to go back to Tottenham, where he can use the excuse of rebuilding. Tottenham is a club where losers are celebrated and mediocrity is the norm.
I’m sick of supporting Tottenham……seriously! Pochettino comes back and I will be out. I have had enough

He may be a nice guy, but when has ” nice ” won you anything?
