Report: Recently-injured Spurs star has travelled with squad to Israel

In what comes as a major boost to Tottenham, Football.London have revealed that Ben Davies is expected to be fit to face AS Roma tomorrow evening.

Tottenham will go up against Jose Mourinho’s Roma side in the final pre-season friendly of the summer ahead of the new Premier League campaign, which starts next week.

Davies was a doubt for the clash, having picked up an ankle injury in Tottenham’s 1-1 draw against Sevilla earlier this month.

The Welshman subsequently missed the club’s trip to the Ibrox Stadium last week and was not seen training with the team at Hotspur Way this week.

However, Football.London have now revealed that the 29-year-old has recovered in time from his ankle problem to travel to Israel with the rest of the Spurs squad.

This news comes just days after the former Swansea man put pen to paper on a new contract with Tottenham until 2025.

Football.London add that Oliver Skipp did not travel to Israel as the midfielder continues recovering from a minor injury he picked up in training.

Spurs Web Opinion

This is excellent news as it would have been a big blow to start the campaign without a full-fit Davies. Given that we hardly conceded any goals in the final few matches of last season, one would expect Conte to keep faith in the same back three despite Clement Lenglet’s arrival.
