Report: Real Betis fitness coach recommends Tottenham to his own player

Tottenham fans may have expected a few transfer sagas this summer, with their club looking to invest after nearly 18 months without a signing.

However, fans would have wanted to see a new star through the doors at Hotspur way by now, especially with the number of rumours linking Tottenham to players.

The BBC reported this month that Tottenham had a bid of £53m turned down for Real Betis central midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

The report indicates that the Argentine playmaker has a whopping buyout clause of £88m.

Spurs are said to still be interested in the player, but the two clubs remain far apart in their valuation of Lo Celso (Sky Sports).

Whether the 23-year-old joins or not could depend on whether Tottenham sell Christian Eriksen this summer.

The Great Dane previously revealed he is ready to move onto a new challenge and a step up next season (Ekstra Bladet).

The I have now reported that even the Real Betis fitness coach, Marcos Alvarez, has recommended Tottenham to Lo Celso. Alvarez worked at Spurs between 2007 and 2008 under Juande Ramos.
