Report: Real Madrid and Barcelona both interested in Tottenham academy starlet

According to a report from Don Balon, Troy Parrott is on the radar of both Real Madrid and Barcelona this summer.

Parrott is highly thought of at Spurs, boasting a prolific scoring record at youth level.

The striker was handed his Premier League debut in the 5-0 win over Burnley in December, just a month on from making his full international debut for the Republic of Ireland.

It seemed at that point as if it was only a matter of time before the striker made an impact on the Spurs first-team. However, the 18-year-old has barely kicked a ball since, despite injuries to Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

Jose Mourinho has admitted that he does not think Parrott is ready for regular first-team action yet (Football.London), and the teenager is expected to be loaned out next season.

Don Balon now claim that Real Madrid and Barcelona are both following the progress of the Spurs youngster, with Los Blancos said to be especially keen on snapping him up.

However, the report reveals that Tottenham have rejected Madrid’s advances and have no intention of letting Parrott leave the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would not be surprised if Real Madrid are interested in Parrott. However, the ball is firmly in our court, with the striker only recently penning a new deal with Spurs. He is being nurtured for the first-team and so I see no reason as to why we would consider letting him leave.
