Report: Real Madrid and Barcelona both said to be keen on forward linked with Spurs

Lille striker Victor Osimhen was one of several forwards to be linked with a move to Tottenham in the January transfer window.

French publication Jeunes Footeux reported a month and a half ago that Jose Mourinho was keen on landing Osimhen with the report claiming that the Portuguese views the youngster as a suitable understudy to Harry Kane.

A report by Sky Sports in December claimed that Spurs were monitoring the forward TEAMtalk even suggesting that Mourinho was in pole position ahead of the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea.

However, Spurs failed to complete a deal for the 18-year-old last month and Le10Sport now reveals that Real Madrid and Barcelona have both entered the race for the Nigerian international.

The report claims that both Spanish giants have made enquiries for Osimhen and Spurs could face stiff competition from both clubs if they go back in for the striker in the summer.

It is suggested that the teenager is valued at around €35 million by Lille.

While Jose Mourinho’s and Joao Sacramento’s relationship with Luis Campos potentially might give us an upper hand in the deal, I am not sure Osimhen is the type of striker we need to be targetting. Not only is he not ready yet for the Spurs first team but signing him could also interfere with Parrott’s development.
