Report: Real Madrid considering move for Spurs fan favourite

German outlet Sport 1 have claimed that Real Madrid are weighing up a move for Tottenham star Son Heung-min.

Son has been one of the most consistent forwards in the Premier League over the last few seasons and even created history by becoming the first Asian player to win the Golden Boot during the previous campaign.

The forward signed a new contract with Spurs last summer and is currently contracted to the club until 2025 (Transfermarkt).

However, if Sport 1’s latest update is to be believed, Son is now ‘preparing for his next career step’ and is eyeing a move to a bigger club.

The report explains that although Tottenham have ambitions of winning trophies under Antonio Conte, the Italian would need time to get the club challenging for major honours.

It is suggested that Son ‘will carefully consider’ his future since he is at an age where he is running out of time to add to his CV.

The report adds that Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is keeping an eye on the South Korean international.

Spurs Web Opinion

It seems unlikely that Tottenham would want to part company with Son, or the player would want to leave given he only signed a new contract extension in July 2021 to keep him at the club until the summer of 2025.

The 30-year-old is also not the kind of character to go on strike or demand a transfer, and he clearly loves Spurs.
