Report: Real Madrid cool interest in Tottenham star for this reason

Tottenham Hotspur will be downbeat after losing their first ever Champions League final on Saturday, however, they must now focus on coming back even stronger.

Spurs have not bought a single new player in 16 months, with Lucas Moura being the last senior signing back in January 2018.

Tottenham and Daniel Levy simply must invest money into the squad if they have any hope of reaching such a prestigious final again.

However, reports now suggest that Christian Eriksen could be staying at Tottenham past the summer, despite strong links to Real Madrid (AS).

DM report that Madrid have cooled their interest in Eriksen, not being impressed with his performance in the Champions League final against Liverpool.

With just one year remaining on his current Spurs contract, Tottenham must either sell him now, sign him up to a new deal, or lose him on a free next summer.

Spurs Web Opinion:

If Spurs can’t agree on a new deal with the Great Dane, then they simply must sell him now, or risk losing out on over £60m worth of transfer fees. If Poch wants to strengthen his squad this summer, he cannot afford to lose his best players for nothing.
