Report: Real Madrid now targeting Spurs star to replace Man Utd bound Casemiro

Real Madrid are now targeting Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as a replacement for the Man United-bound Casemiro, according to The Telegraph

Carlo Ancelotti, who is currently in charge of Los Blancos, is said to be an admirer of the Danish central midfielder, having tried to sign him during his Everton days.

The report claims that Madrid are considering a bid for the Spurs man, but it is unclear as to whether Tottenham would be open to parting ways with Hojbjerg.

If the Lilywhites do cash in on one of their first-choice midfield options, it is said that Conte would demand a replacement before the summer transfer window closes.

Tottenham currently have Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, Oliver Skipp and Yves Bissouma to choose from in central midfield, while young Harvey White has been in and around the first-team.

Real Madrid’s interest in Hojbjerg has been triggered by Man United moving for one of their current senior midfield options, Casemiro.

Spurs Web Opinion:

The season has already started and Tottenham would only disrupt their squad for silly money. Real Madrid are unlikely to pay a huge fee with the financial climate in La Liga at the moment, so I expect Hojbjerg to stay exactly where he is.
