The Sun have reported that Real Madrid are planning a late move for Tottenham star, Christian Eriksen, after the Dane impressed in the opening two Premier League matches this season.

The report suggests that Madrid will bid £60m for the playmaker right at the end of the window in order to pressure Daniel Levy into taking the money.

They are said to be confident that Levy will be open to an offer for Eriksen due to his history of selling players rather than letting them leave on frees.

While the Premier League window for incoming transfers has already shut, clubs in France, Spain, Germany, Italy, and more can still buy players until September 2.

Spurs did bring in a new playmaker in the form of Giovani Lo Celso this summer, but Eriksen would certainly fall into the irreplaceable category of players.

Real Madrid apparently see the Danish midfielder as their successor to Luka Modric, a star they also acquired from Spurs.

  1. Special relationship, get 2 players to spit their dummies out to get a transfer (Modric and Bale), then buy the third player after the PL market is closed weaken Spurs as a possible CL opponent with no chance of a replacement, Levy is totally to blame by not buying Bruno Ferdinand to soak up the effect of Eriksen leaving.Levy and ENIC have done a lot of good over the past decade, but have also held Spurs back from reaching the next level, after Eriksen leaves i can see Poch walking, all down to tightness of Levy and ENIC, Levy and ENIC will walk away if they get a big enough profit, but fans stay loyal forever.
