Report: Real Madrid ready to move for Spurs pair

Real Madrid are preparing to make a move to offer Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen a pre-contract in January and follow it up with an approach for Mauricio Pochettino.

The Mirror report that the Spanish giants are eyeing up a move for the Dane, which would see him walk away from North London at the end of the season as a free agent with Spurs not entitled to a penny.

Eriksen revealed just days after the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool that he wanted to leave the club whilst inviting interest from Los Blancos (Ekstra Bladet).

Madrid are said to have made Pochettino their primary target to replace Zinedine Zidane, with the Frenchman already said to be under pressure in Spain.

Tottenham have experienced a tough start to the new season which has seen them pick up two victories from their opening six Premier League matches along with being dumped out of the Carabao Cup by League Two outfit Colchester United.

Pochettino revealed in May that he has previously turned down an approach from Madrid whilst admitting the situation was difficult after signing a new contract with Tottenham (Evening Standard).

Whether he will turn down a second approach remains to be seen.
