Tottenham Hotspur have lost a few big names to Real Madrid over the years, with a certain duo of Gareth Bale and Luka Modric springing to mind.
However, with the exception of Kyle Walker, Tottenham and Levy have not made a habit of losing their star players in the past five years or so.
Unfortunately, the Lilywhites may have their hand forced in 2020 with regards to Christian Eriksen, who appears to show no signs of signing a new deal in North London.
Eriksen has under a year remaining on his current Spurs deal, which could see him leave on a free in the summer, at which point clubs like Real Madrid could sign him for nothing.
However, non-English clubs are also allowed to contact the player in under a month as the new year starts. At this point, they can discuss a pre-contract agreement with the player.
Marca have reported that Real Madrid remain interested in the Great Dane, implying that they may be in touch in January.
