Report: Real Madrid tracking Tottenham star and name him on their shortlist

Real Madrid are tracking Tottenham forward Heung-min Son and have named him on a shortlist of potential transfer targets, according to journalist Rudy Galetti.

The South Korean international delivered another standout campaign having helped Spurs secure qualification for the Champions League with a fourth-placed finish in the league, pipping rivals Arsenal in the process.

Son also earned individual honours with the first Premier League Golden Boot of his career – sharing the prize with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah with both ending the season on 23 goals.

Despite being under contract with Spurs for the long-term until 2025 (transfermarkt), it has not stopped him from being linked with a potential move away.

Galetti reports Son has been shortlisted as a target by the Champions League and LaLiga winners Real Madrid.

The journalist notes Son is one of a number of attacking players Los Rojiblancos who is on their radar.

This really looks to be a non-starter given Spurs are likely to value Son more than what clubs would be prepared to pay.

We saw it with Harry Kane and Manchester City last year, and any approach from Real would probably be knocked back straight away by Daniel Levy, given his importance to Antonio Conte’s plans.
